Let’s just start by defining some simple parameters regarding the immigration issue in general and SB1070 in particular. First off are some questions: Are all Hispanics bigots in the opinion of the left? Second, are all Hispanics felons? Last, does SB1070 do anything new?
I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that even the lefty answers are predictable here; No, no, and yes. See, that poses a problem for the left in this “argument”. It effectively means there is no argument. What passes for debate is nothing more or less than race baiting and misrepresentation.
The reason for the questions is to establish exactly what we are talking about. First, we are not talking about immigrants. We are not talking about the opinion of only whites. We are talking about the prevailing opinion(yes, the majority, whether you like that or not) of US Citizens regarding illegal and eventually felonious invaders. The subject is US Citizens of all races regarding Illegal aliens of all races.
So the race card and bigot label no longer fly. They don’t fly with me and they don’t fly with ever more people daily. We’re just not buying it anymore just as the Race Card has also been maxed out. You can toss them around but the only thing it gets you is dismissal. Automatic and off the cuff dismissal by everyone who isn’t playing the same cards for the same reasons. That would be most of the nation, by the way.
Nobody is interested in having that debate any longer because it is nothing but a manufactured distraction from the issue. And a painfully transparent one at that. US Citizens, their color and creed not at issue except among those with an agenda, want these people to obey the laws or reap the consequences for not doing so. Those who have not obeyed the law need to go, and a state law modeled on federal law is one way to do it.
The only reason to oppose it is either you’ve got a Libertarian Open Borders slant to you, which is naive on so many levels, or you have a Dem Partisan hope of padding elections with a theoretically built in voter base. One that, despite a few claims to the contrary, is large enough to influence any race in the western half of the US. While the former might have some logic behind it if not for the massive Welfare State that draws in these Illegals, the latter is partisan thuggery at, almost, its lowest.
Otherwise? They are criminals and the US has immigration laws. Not even particularly onerous ones at that, which Citizens want enforced. Especially those Citizens of various races including Hispanic who got here by following those rules. It’s not complex and it doesn’t involve race. If it temporarily produces an economic issue in some areas, of which there is nothing but noisy anecdotal evidence from at least nominally pro-illegal sources, then that’s the price to be paid for failing to handle the problem for decades.
No rational person ever expected it would be fixed over night and without hardship somewhere to somebody. No problem this large and this old can be, but that is not a reason to not do it. There is no reason to not do it, except the foolish or the partisan one. Bigotry exists only in the minds of those guilty of one or the other.
Finally there is the law itself. It’s linked above but I’ll link SB1070 one more time. Leftists seem to have a problem with reading legislation before they comment, or vote, on it. What IS this law? It’s federal law given to a state by the state because of the miserable failure of the feds to enforce their law. There’s nothing new in it and the only thing new likely to come from it is enforcement of immigration law. In other words, Illegal Aliens go to jail. What a concept!
So what’s it not going to do? It’s not going to create a “your papers please” nation. It’s not going to target Canadians or create a police state(much as that would well serve the purposes of the Obastard Regime). Cops aren’t going to be pulling over cars for random stops because you’re eating a burrito. No unmarked units will be sitting up the block from Taco Bell like a bar on a Friday night, or the Chinese restaurant or NAACP local office, either(though considering the Panthers and the recent Tea Party-bashing maybe the latter needs it).
Despite the fear mongering of the left none of these things are going to happen. It’s not even going to get all the illegal aliens, either arrested or even driven out. But it is a tool to get, and keep, some of the more egregious offenders when they get pulled over and are drunk, unlicensed, uninsured, or caught after a robbery…or murder. Get them, keep them and prosecute them as opposed to the revolving door policy in place right now under federal “control”.
So where does this leave the left? It’s not about race and it’s not about making a police state and the only people who don’t support it are those who stand to lose something if it passes. Like, say, their free economic or political ride. In light of this it’s no wonder the left is screeching so shrilly. For the Citizens of the United States there simply is no downside and that doesn’t fit with current Democrat Party policy.
I believe there are going to have to be a series of “Stuck on Stupid” posts here over the next few days. That would be because this nation seems to increasingly be infested with people who define that term for daily observation. Today’s example? Bloomington, Indiana.
You have to understand that for those of us living in nearby communities Bloomington has long been a source of…humor, to put it kindly. Smack in the middle of a rational and conservative area sits this college town whose “leadership” fancies itself the Berkley of the Midwest. We’ve had tree sitters and anti-2nd Amendment nuts and every stripe of econut up there for years. And, of course, it was once the home of that creature Kinsey.
But now, in a paroxysm of grandiose pretension the city council of this small midwestern burg has sent a missive to Arizona telling them said burg will no longer purchase from or do business with Arizona/Arizona based companies. In a move apparently conceived for self-immolation these same under-informed and over-stuffed city officials are considering ways to break contracts with any Arizona business they are currently tied to. One wonders if maybe these people, starting with Mayor Kruzman, wouldn’t be better off to simply have a tax dollar bonfire as opposed to wasting it on the lawsuits they’ll lose over such an act of stupidity.
What’s it all about? Immigration, of course. Specifically the Arizona law that does nothing but follow existing federal law…better than the Feds do.
After this debacle, and in the face of common sense appeals from state senators, perhaps more importantly their own local Chamber of Commerce has weighed in. The Chamber has been informed by masses of the public, including those of us outside the burg, that as long as this stupidity is in force our dollars will be going elsewhere. The Chamber has wisely told these elected(and likely soon unelected) flunkies to back off their agenda.
If nothing else they won’t be able to have as big a bonfire when businesses in Bloomington, not Arizona, start to fold from this lefty neural twitch(commonly referred to as a knee-jerk reaction).
Kruzman’s reply? That while he never actually thought such an action could have an effect(imagine that) it’s necessary to oppose such a racist action(translation: Grandstand to the koolaid left and display their total ignorance to everyone else). Efforts to inform these people what the Arizona law is have, typically, fallen on deaf ears. Arguably yet another attempt at deliberately going down in political flames.
What does it take to make stupid people go away. Not fix them. As the saying goes, you can’t fix stupid. How about just getting them to shut up? How about getting them to realize if they think the Arizona law has anything to do with racism, if anyone thinks immigration enforcement in general has anything to do with racism, they are stupid and need to shut up? I don’t demand they stop being stupid, just don’t insist the rational part of the nation listen to your stupidity spewed through the megaphones of race cards and boycotts. We’re sick of hearing it.
Frankly I am missing the era of walled cities more every day. We could then just block up the gates of Bloomington, cut the wires and let them babble to themselves like the lunatics they are.
It’s always a white guy. Whenever something blows up, or tries to blow up, it’s a white guy first. And he’s angry about ObamaCare. He’s a gun owner and a conservative Christian, too. And he’ll continue to be an angry, armed, fundy white guy until the authorities catch a Pakistani Muslime trying to get out of the country and can’t deny it any longer. That’s the political reality of the Obastard Regime and the left in general. Think back to Phil Donahue and the Beltway Sniper and his assurance to us all that “it’s a white guy”. Phil was wrong, as usual, but he was still prescient.
Move forward in time and we get the latest not-quite-smart-enough-to-make-it-go-boom would-be terrorist, the Times Square Bomber. According to the officials of fedgov we knew, almost immediately, that this was no Muzzie. No act of terrorism here folks. Nothing to see. Just some angry white guy with an Evil SUV. The Powers That Be parroted that line of Obama-serving crap until the moment they could no longer hide the fact it was a Pakistani with a Koran shaped chip on his narrow little shoulder. I’d suggest that if they could find a way to continue misrepresenting the reality they would do so even now.
Hell, let’s be honest…they’d lie.
Speaking of lying, that brings up Mayor Bloomberg. Those two things just naturally go together, after all. Talking to the Obastard/lefty mouthpiece Katie Couric, Bloomberg, famous for getting his grubby paws slapped down for illegal efforts at interfering with the 2nd Amendment rights of Citizens smart enough to not live in New Yawk, went right to it. Encouraged by l’il Catie he said
If I had to guess — 25 cents — this would be exactly that, somebody… home-grown, maybe a mentally deranged person or somebody with a political agenda that doesn’t like the health care bill or something. It could be anything.
I suppose the interesting question here, really, is why? Do people like this really hate their own nation, and perhaps themselves, this much? For Obastard it’s easy to understand: He’s a foreign-born Muslim. But for people like Bloominidiot it almost has to be self-loathing. Hatred of pretty much everything they are supposed to protect as well. Merely following the socialist agenda doesn’t seem to be enough to explain this need for it to always be a white guy, or the fixation on race in general. The only advantages to protecting the Muslimes and their camel-humping sun- god-worshiping pedophile, erm, Prophet are just too vague to justify it. The answer may fit the agenda but it simply can’t be defined by it.
People like Bloomberg and the rest of the Apologists may claim some label of “tolerance” and there’s always the plus of bashing the opposition we know they hate, us, but it’s just not enough. They have to hate themselves even more than they hate the US and the Constitution. And to find that sort of insanity you’ll always be looking for a white guy.
The New Orleans Police have actually stepped up to the plate and done their jobs. In so doing they have confirmed the attack which resulted in serious physical injuries to Allee Bautsch and her boyfriend Joe Brown were politically motivated. The big question is, where is the Lame Stream Media? If this were a couple lefties beat down by someone else the media would be all over it and automatically labeling the attackers as “conservatives”, whether they were or not and regardless of what the police and the evidence might say. But here? Not a peep. Silence from the lefty controlled propaganda units. And, oddly enough, not a lot of noise from Jindal’s office, either. Is he scared to stir the pot too much? Worried the media will admit notice and then try to blame the victims and him? That might not be such a foolish position to hold in this day and age…
It’s now “Cash The Tea Party”. Levin couldn’t stand the heat and pulled the forum down. Now his front page is a huckster site to make him money off the backs of people stupid enough to vote for Obastard.
Ya never know, he might be able to bilk them for a few bucks. Depends on how much is left from their welfare checks.
Allee Bautsch, Republican official and chief campaign fundraiser for Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal suffered a broken leg and other injuries while her boyfriend received a broken nose and jaw in a leftist spawned attack this past Friday. Shortly after leaving a party fundraiser the pair were attacked by several scruffy looking males who targeted them for the Palin pins they were wearing.
Apparently the thugs had been lurking outside the fundraiser looking for someone, perhaps Bautsch, perhaps any random conservative target, to attack based on political motivations. There was a small protest by “anarchists” (organized anarchists, how quaint!) during the fundraiser but this had mostly disbanded by the end, except for the attackers. Apparently these people seem to think that the past 4 years of incompetence and corruption and collapse are all the fault of anyone but the Democrats in total control during that period. I never thought “anarchist” was a synonym for “stupid” but increasingly these sorts make it appear true.
Bautsch received a compound fracture and underwent surgery. The recovery time for her and her boyfriend, Joe Brown, is expected to take several months. Jindal’s office issued a statement carefully avoiding linking SEIU and other lefty extremist thugs with the crime, while the N’awlins po-po are “investigating” and are, considering the local politics, unlikely to find much. Below is a video by Jeff Blanco of the “quality” of what was protesting…well, who knows what they were protesting(they surely don’t…
In related news a new website called “Crash The Tea Party” (no, I’m not giving these cretins a link) has popped up to provide cover for SEIU thugs and other Obastard Brown Shirts in disrupting the free speech of US Citizens who don’t blindly follow in lock step with the Obama/union/socialist agenda. These creatures are determined to make things uglier than The One and his Dem majority already have. I suspect they are biting off more than they can chew.
In case it is not “moderated” into the thread I’ll drop it here because the ramblings of Press need to be read, and so do the replies. Especially the ones that point out how absurd these lefties are…

Posted as example one of the leftist disconnect from reality. You’ve never run a business nor been near anyone who has, have you? Don’t answer, you’ll probably lie anyway since reality is so distant from you. But here’s a dose of it: Business owners are in business to earn money. To do that they do what makes them money, sell what sells. You can’t just dump something out there and make people buy it. Either it is wanted or it fails. Conservative talk is wanted and makes money and thus station owners sell it. Leftist propaganda doesn’t, hence the dearth of lefty shows and the demise of Air Amerika.

And here’s the final example. Obama isn’t being socialist enough so the answer from an irate Citizenry is to elect a moderate conservative. This is why the left can’t stay in power long even when they do manage to steal it. Again, you didn’t lie, you fantasized. Your statement is so outrageous on the face of it that it takes one’s breath away. The only initial response afterwards is laughter.
And THAT is the real reason the Lefty Network died: Regular people just can’t take that kind of crap, or Bill Press et al, seriously.
Ted Kennedy died a little after midnight after a year long battle with brain cancer. The Senator, long referred to as the “Liberal Lion”, spent his last few days trying to get the law that he put in place to cover his seat in 2004, should he win nomination for POTUS, changed back now. Then it was to prevent a nominally Repub governor from appointing a RINO to his seat. Now it’s to keep the seat from being vacant since that’s no longer a problem.
This pretty well defines Teddy specifically and the Kennedys in general. Do whatever it takes to maintain power and forward a left wing agenda. If you have to twist the law, run over the Constitution or BoR, or lie about murdering a girl on a bridge in the dark of night, so be it. For decades Kennedy yelled, cursed and drank his way through his career, promoting legislation to restrict the rights of gun owners, tax the productive to pay for the lazy and covering butt for his fellow lefties. Unless, of course, they stepped off the Democrat Plantation. Then Ted’s true tolerance shined through.
They say you aren’t supposed to speak ill of the dead but this is one dead white guy that earned just about all the vitriol that will be heaped upon him over the next week or so. Even as we are deluged in a state funeral and endless media coverage of the demise of this “great” man most of the US will know him for what he was: A murderer, a drunkard, a womanizer, a hypocrite, a race-baiter, a partisan hack and the Kennedy who just never could quite make it.
The US is better for his failures than his “successes”, and he’s one of the few people whose demise leaves the world a brighter place. We can only hope that there is a just God and Mary Jo Kopeckne finally gets the justice she and her family had to wait forty years for. At least for those of us left behind things are better already.
Rest in peace, Teddy. I pray for your eternal soul even as I hope there is an angel assigned to kick your metaphysical ass for the next couple millenia.
The left is crying already that these posters, which have started appearing in LA, “…goes beyond political spoofery,” says (Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable President Earl Ofari )Hutchinson, “it is mean-spirited and dangerous.”
But when the left portrayed Bush as a bumbling idiot from before the day he was first elected, when they call Sarah Palin every name in the book and continue to slander her after she’s left office, when they went so far as to cheer Reagan’s death, it’s all OK. Just politics.
